If you live in the USA, you know that everyone uses credit cards, all the time. However, you may not know that other countries use credit cards very differently. Germans, for instance, use credit cards almost exclusively for travel. In fact, only 33% of Germans owned a credit card in 2011.
So what’s the point?
If you are targeting an international audience and only accept credit card payments, you simply won’t collect a portion of the sales you’ve earned. Imagine that, a customer who can’t pay you.
The simplest solution is to accept PayPal payments on your site. It’s the most common alternative in countries that aren’t as credit card crazed as the rest of us.
