Transactional emails are hot right now. Pretty much every app has a tool like Intercom or Mixpanel running in the background for this functionality. So what are transactional emails?
Transactional emails are emails that get sent to a customer based on an action they’ve performed. For instance, you might send them an email if they haven’t logged in for a few days. Or, you might follow up with some more information based on the pages they view on your site.
As an example, if you’re a customer of keywordtool.io (excellent tool btw) and you visit their API page, you’ll get an email shortly after from them. The email provides additional information about the API and invites you to ask any questions you have. Slightly creepy, but incredibly proactive and engaging.
These types of emails can be used in an endless number of ways to help train customers, get them more engaged, and ultimately increase customer lifetime value.
